MRI EMEA Day 2 Preview
With Saturday's slate up tomorrow following from today , this is your breakdown for the games coming up.
Fyr Strays come in as an invited Ignite roster with roots in NA, now competing in the EU. Its a veteran-heavy squad with players from across the region, and while there's clear experience here, especially with
AustriaBinary anchoring their tank line. They do lack the firepower to match top teams, however.
RAD, meanwhile, looks terrifying.
The Danish org has been dominant, coming off a 1st-place MRC finish where they controlled the region. Their history rolls deep in the region, with ties to the NAVI roster that took first in China.
Individually, they're stacked.
Polandcrazykitty is arguably a top 5 DPS in the region with a clean Wolverine and Daredevil.
Netherlandsmash also brings stability to support.
Unless something unexpected happens, RAD should take the win
Prediction: RAD win
NAVI showed their expertise yesterday and look to do the same again. Their dives, comprised of Venom/Deadpool/Daredevil/StarLord, left Alter with no room to breathe, ending with a clean 2-0 win. It even had debuts of Spidey (
CroatiaJur3ky) and White Fox (
United Kingdomfate).
They have looked to go up a level
Shikigami do come in with momentum. Their showing vs PULSAR showed why they are seen as top 3 in their group.
SwedenLeyolaz showed why he's a top duellist in the region with back-to-back MVPs in the series vs PULSAR with a KDA of 52-4-2 in the series.
However, closing the gap on NAVI looks to be a different challenge entirely.
Prediction: NAVI win
An all-Saudi matchup with some real potential.
United StatesVision are coming off an upset for those looking at their predictions with an upset on Reason Gaming .
GermanyGainer was a standout, putting up MVP-worthy performances on Rogue and Vanguard Pool. That said, their draft phase was questionable to say the least, leaving Elsa Bloodstone and Vanguard Pool to the other team in favour of a non-mirrored gambit.
Crownfall, on the other hand, looked far more solid than expected against world-class opposition in Virtus.pro. They pushed VP hardest on Convoy with good performances from their tanks.
Between Crownfalls' experience and their resilience vs VP, they feel the safer pick Prediction: Crownfall win
Alter didnt have the start they wanted
A clean loss to NAVI exposed some issues – especially in the ban phase. Letting NAVI keep their tank flexibility while targeting Rogue bans.
Still, there's a big difference between playing NAVI and playing PULSAR
PULSAR are coming off a fairly comfortable loss to Shikigami. While there were a few solid individual performances, they showed the weakness most assumed in their tank character pools and more. Alter should have enough to bounce back
Prediction: Alter win
This is a brutal matchup for Reason They're coming off a disappointing 0-2 loss to
United StatesVision, a result very few expected. Even with subs like
FranceDRP and
Turkeybalas stepping in, they looked very disjointed. Thor's limited comp pool and reliance on certain picks didn't help either. Now they have to face the best team in the world
Virtus pro continued to look dominant. Their win over Crownfall wasn't flawless but showed their depth. They pulled out a triple tank comp on domination, with
Francedridro putting up insane numbers. Even when things got shaky on Convoy, VPs' ult tracking and composure carried them through Reason looks to have a very tough matchup.
Prediction: VP win
Saturday's slate is all about separation, the top teams proving why they're elite, some trying to cause upsets and others looking to come back from a loss.
